The Asian Football Confederation has suspended Al Gharafa midfielder Ismael Bennacer and Al Hilal winger Crysencio Summerville for three AFC Champions League Elite matches following their confrontation last month.
Both players were also fined $2,000 after being sent off during Al Hilal’s 2-1 victory over Al Gharafa at Kingdom Arena in the opening round of the competition’s league phase.

Saudi journalist Khaled Al-Doseri reported the punishments, stating that each player would miss three matches in the AFC Champions League Elite and receive a $2,000 fine.
“The Asian Football Confederation will suspend Al Hilal and Al Gharafa players Summerville and Ismael Bennacer for three matches each, following their dismissals in the two teams’ AFC Champions League Elite meeting,” Al-Doseri wrote.
“The Asian Football Confederation will also impose a $2,000 fine on each player because of the incidents that occurred in the match.”
The suspension means Summerville will miss Al Hilal’s next three league-phase fixtures against Qatar’s Al Sadd and Al Shamal, as well as Shabab Al Ahli of the United Arab Emirates.
Bennacer will serve the same ban for Al Gharafa, ruling him out of the club’s next matches against Iran’s Esteghlal, Saudi Arabia’s Al Qadsiah and Iraq’s Al Quwa Al Jawiya.
Al Hilal are third in the West Region standings with three points, while Al Gharafa are 11th without a point.
