Arsenal have been given the strongest chance of winning the 2026-27 Premier League title after an Opta supercomputer model assessed the prospects of the leading teams.
The model gives the Gunners a 38% probability of retaining the championship, putting them well clear of the rest of the field in the forecast produced by Opta specialists.
Manchester City are ranked second, with a 20.5% chance of claiming the title. No other club included in the assessment reaches a probability of 10%, leaving a significant gap between the two leading contenders and the teams below them.
Liverpool are third in the predicted standings, although their 9.2% chance places them some distance behind Manchester City. Manchester United follow on 6.2%, while Aston Villa are assessed at 4.8%.
Chelsea have been assigned a 4.1% chance of finishing the season as champions, with Tottenham completing the list on 2.9%.
The figures represent the outcome of Opta’s calculations for the 2026-27 campaign and rank the clubs according to their estimated likelihood of lifting the Premier League trophy. Arsenal’s position at the top of the forecast means they are the model’s leading selection to remain champions.
The gap in the projections is most pronounced at the summit. Arsenal’s 38% probability is almost twice Manchester City’s 20.5%, while Liverpool’s figure is below half that of the second-placed club.
The remaining five teams are grouped below the 10% mark. Liverpool are the closest of that group to Manchester City, followed by Manchester United, Aston Villa, Chelsea and Tottenham.
Opta’s forecast therefore places Arsenal in the strongest position before the 2026-27 title race, with Manchester City identified as the nearest challenger. Liverpool and Manchester United are next in the calculation, while Aston Villa, Chelsea and Tottenham have more limited chances according to the model.
The full probabilities are:
– Arsenal – 38%
– Manchester City – 20.5%
– Liverpool – 9.2%
– Manchester United – 6.2%
– Aston Villa – 4.8%
– Chelsea – 4.1%
– Tottenham – 2.9%
The assessment does not give any of the other teams a double-digit chance of becoming champions. Arsenal are consequently the only club with a probability above 20%, while Manchester City are the only other side to exceed that threshold before the start of the 2026-27 Premier League season.
