Arsenal and Liverpool are leading the race to sign Brentford winger Kevin Schade after his impressive start to the Premier League season.
The 24-year-old German, who is of Nigerian descent, has scored three goals in eight league appearances. His pace, direct running and ability to operate on either flank have increased interest from some of England’s leading clubs.
According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal and Liverpool are currently the two main contenders for Schade. Both clubs had already monitored his situation during the previous transfer window and have now been encouraged by his performances this season.
Brentford, however, are not expected to make a departure straightforward. The Bees would reportedly demand more than £60m (€71m) before considering a sale in January.
The London club have also opened talks with Schade over a contract extension. His current deal runs until June 2028, but Brentford want to improve his salary and strengthen their position over his future.
Schade’s market value is estimated at €50m by Transfermarkt, meaning any potential deal could command a significant premium if Brentford’s reported asking price is met.
Despite the growing interest, a move during the winter transfer window remains uncertain. Brentford regard Schade as an important part of their attacking options and would prefer to retain him.
A transfer in summer 2027 could prove more realistic if discussions over a new contract fail to produce an agreement and either Arsenal or Liverpool decides to make a formal approach.
For now, Brentford’s stance means interested clubs may have to wait before attempting to secure the winger, who remains under contract with the club until June 2028.
