Angola-Portugal winger Andre Vidigal has joined Alverca from Wycombe on a free transfer, returning to Portugal after a spell in the English game.
The 28-year-old plays primarily on the left wing and joins the Liga Portugal club after just over six months with Wycombe. Vidigal moved to the League One side from Stoke City on a free transfer on 2 February 2026, before completing his switch to Alverca on 21 August.
Vidigal’s arrival gives Alverca an experienced wide player with a career that has included spells in Portugal, the Netherlands, Cyprus and England. He began his senior club career with Coimbra after progressing from the Academica Under-19 side, and later moved to Fortuna Sittard in the Netherlands.
The winger spent part of the 2018-19 season on loan at APOEL Nicosia, helping the Cypriot club win the league title. He returned to Portugal with Estoril on loan during the 2020-21 campaign and was part of the side that won the second tier of Portuguese football in 2021.
Vidigal subsequently joined Maritimo before moving to Stoke City in July 2023 for a reported €500,000 fee. His time at Stoke preceded the free transfer to Wycombe earlier this year.
Born in Elvas, Portugal, Vidigal holds Angolan and Portuguese nationality. He is listed at 1.76m and prefers his right foot, with his main role coming from the left side of attack.
His move to Alverca comes with a current market value of €800,000, while the highest recorded value of his career has been €1.5m. The transfer also marks a return to Portuguese football after his recent period with clubs in England.
Vidigal’s honours include the Cypriot championship with APOEL in the 2018-19 season and the Portuguese second-division title with Estoril in 2021. His career has also featured loan spells at APOEL and Estoril, alongside permanent moves involving Fortuna Sittard, Maritimo, Stoke and Wycombe.
The free transfer from Wycombe to Alverca was completed on 21 August 2026.
