Sofyan Amrabat faces an uncertain future at Real Betis after the club opted to postpone a decision on making his move permanent, despite a series of solid performances during his loan spell.
The Moroccan midfielder, currently on loan from Fenerbahce, has featured prominently for the Andalusian side throughout the 2025–2026 season. He has made 23 appearances, scoring twice and accumulating 1,599 minutes of playing time. His contributions in midfield have been widely viewed as influential, providing structure, balance and physical presence.
However, according to reports from “fichajes”, Betis have now frozen plans to complete a permanent transfer. The decision comes at a time when the club is grappling with inconsistent results and growing financial pressure.
Performance overshadowed by club struggles
Amrabat’s integration into the team had initially encouraged Betis to consider activating a permanent deal. His immediate impact in midfield, along with his ability to strengthen defensive transitions, appeared to align with the club’s tactical needs.
