England and Sierra Leone centre-back Amara Nallo has joined HJK Helsinki on loan from Liverpool U21, strengthening the Finnish champions’ defensive options for the Veikkausliiga campaign. The 19-year-old switches to the capital club in a temporary deal confirmed on 24 July.
Nallo arrives in Helsinki from Liverpool’s under-21 side, where he has been developing in Premier League 2. The move gives the left-sided centre-back his first taste of senior top-flight football in a European league outside England, with HJK currently competing in Finland’s Veikkausliiga.
The defender, who is valued at around €1 million, becomes one of the most notable youth additions to HJK’s squad in this window, as the club looks to blend emerging talent with established experience. His background in one of English football’s leading academies adds further profile to the deal.
Nallo’s dual England and Sierra Leone nationality also brings an international dimension to HJK’s squad, with the Helsinki side continuing to widen its recruitment beyond the Nordic region. The loan move offers the teenager a platform to gain regular minutes in a competitive senior environment while contributing to HJK’s domestic and European ambitions.
The agreement means Nallo will spend the current season in Finland on a loan transfer from Liverpool U21.
