Aliou Dieng is not being lined up for a move away from Valencia in the January transfer window, according to his agent Khaled Maghraby.
Reports in Spanish newspaper AS claimed the club had considered placing the Mali international on the transfer list to reduce its wage bill and create funds for new signings. However, Maghraby has categorically denied the speculation.
Speaking to Maghreb-Foot, the Egyptian representative said Dieng remains committed to continuing his time with the Spanish side. He also questioned reports suggesting Valencia were unhappy with the midfielder’s performances.
Dieng joined Valencia after leaving Egypt and has made six appearances for the club, with 232 minutes played so far. He started Valencia’s two most recent matches, taking advantage of a number of injuries within the squad.
Although his playing time had been limited before those appearances, Maghraby insisted there was no basis to claims his client was preparing to leave.
Dieng is under contract with Valencia until 30 June 2028. His current estimated market value is €3m.
Valencia’s next fixture will be their ninth match of the Spanish championship, against Athletic Bilbao.
