Mali international Aliou Dieng has made an encouraging start to life in Spain following his move from Al Ahly to Valencia, quickly establishing himself in the club’s starting line-up.
The 28-year-old midfielder has featured in four La Liga matches since joining Valencia and appears to have adapted quickly to Spanish football.
Dieng’s representative, Khaled Maghraby, discussed the player’s move in an interview with Maghreb-Foot, praising the role played by Al Ahly’s Egyptian officials in helping facilitate the transfer.
According to Maghraby, Dieng had been keen on securing a move to Europe as he looked to continue his development at the highest level.
The Bamako-born midfielder is under contract with Valencia until 2028 and is currently valued at €3 million.
Maghraby believes Dieng’s ability to settle quickly into Spanish football has been aided by the experience he accumulated during his career before arriving at the Mestalla.
The midfielder will now look to build on his promising start when Valencia return to La Liga action against Sevilla in the sixth round of the Spanish championship.
Having already earned a place in the starting XI, Dieng will hope his early adaptation can help him establish himself as a regular in Valencia’s midfield over the course of the season.
