Aliou Diao: Senegal winger joins SFC Opava from Hlucin on permanent deal

Senegalese winger Aliou Diao has joined SFC Opava from Hlucin, with the 22-year-old signing a contract with the Czech club until 30 June 2028.

Diao, who operates primarily on the left wing, arrives after a short spell with Hlucin, which he joined earlier in 2026 following a brief period without a club. His move to Opava marks the latest step in a European journey that has already taken in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

The Dakar-born wide player has built a reputation as an effective attacking outlet in the lower tiers of Central European football. Across league and cup competitions, he has made more than 60 senior appearances, scoring 14 goals and contributing a series of assists, including four goals and five assists in 41 outings in the Slovak second tier.

Diao’s most notable achievement to date came in the 2024-25 campaign, when he was part of the FC Tatran Presov side that won the Slovak second division title. During that period he also had a loan spell with Stara Lubovna before returning to Presov and later moving on.

Before arriving at Hlucin in February 2026, Diao had previously played for Vlasim after leaving Senegalese club Mbour P.C., establishing himself in Central Europe from 2023 onwards. His highest recorded market valuation reached €125,000 during his time in Slovakia.

Diao’s switch from Hlucin to SFC Opava is confirmed as a permanent move, with the winger now tied to the Czech side for the next two seasons.
