Al-Maryami dominates Libyan league scoring charts

Azzo Al-Maryami has emerged as the leading attacking performer in the Libyan Premier League this season, topping the list of players with the highest goal contributions following the conclusion of the group stage phase.

The 27-year-old forward, who plays for Al-Ahli Tripoli, has enjoyed a prolific campaign, reinforcing his reputation as one of the most decisive strikers in domestic football.

Strong impact following summer move

Al-Maryami joined Al-Ahli Tripoli during the previous summer transfer window on a two-year deal, arriving from Al-Hilal Benghazi, where he had already demonstrated his attacking ability with 15 goals and four assists in the preceding season.

Since his move to the capital club, he has continued that form, delivering consistent performances and playing a central role in his team’s attacking output. His contribution has been particularly evident in the league, where he has led the scoring charts with 14 goals.

Leading goal contributions chart

According to statistics published by SofaScore, Al-Maryami sits at the top of the combined goals and assists rankings in the Libyan Premier League. Across 17 appearances, he has been directly involved in 16 goals, underlining his importance to the team.

His tally places him ahead of his teammate Weldon Bukoya, who has recorded 11 goal contributions in 14 matches. Al-Maryami has accumulated 918 minutes of playing time so far this season, representing both Al-Ahli Tripoli and Al-Dhahra.

Close competition among top performers

In third place on the list is Fili Traore of Al-Suwaihli SC, who has also registered 11 goal contributions in 14 matches, with a higher total of minutes played. However, his progress has been halted after receiving a four-month suspension imposed by FIFA due to a dispute involving his former club TP Mazembe.

Moroccan forward Hamza Darai occupies fourth place, contributing 11 goals in 15 appearances for Al-Ittihad Al-Askari. His performances have also attracted attention as part of a competitive group of attacking players in the league.

Rounding out the top five is Ismail Belkacemi, who has recorded 10 goal contributions across 13 matches. Belkacemi featured for Al-Ahli Tripoli during the first half of the season before continuing his campaign with Al-Shumou Club.

Consistency key to Al-Maryami’s success

Al-Maryami’s rise to the top of the rankings has been driven by consistent performances and his ability to deliver in crucial moments. His combination of goal scoring and creative play has made him a central figure in Al-Ahli Tripoli’s campaign.

Focus shifts to next phase

With the group stage completed, attention will now turn to the next phase of the competition, where Al-Maryami will look to maintain his form and continue leading the league’s attacking charts.

A standout season in Libyan football

As the season progresses, Al-Maryami’s performances have set a benchmark for attacking players in the Libyan Premier League. His contribution not only highlights his individual quality but also underscores his importance to Al-Ahli Tripoli’s ambitions.
