Algeria completed their final training session ahead of Tuesday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Burundi, using the session to adapt to the conditions they will face at the Intwari Stadium in Bujumbura.
The Greens trained on the main pitch at the stadium on Monday afternoon, less than 24 hours before their second qualifying match.
The session began at 3pm local time, the same time scheduled for Tuesday’s match, which will kick off at 2pm Algerian time.
All the players who travelled to the stadium took part in the training session, giving coach Brahim Hemdani the opportunity to make his final preparations with the squad before the competitive fixture.
A key focus of the session was helping the players become accustomed to the playing conditions at the Intwari Stadium, particularly its synthetic surface.
The Algerian squad trained on the same pitch where they will face Burundi, allowing Ramy Bensebaini and his team-mates to familiarise themselves with the surface and surroundings before matchday.
Hemdani used the final session primarily for technical and tactical preparations as Algeria made their last adjustments for the encounter.
The national coach included a series of exercises designed to prepare the players for the demands of the match and refine the team’s approach before facing Burundi.
With the final on-pitch preparations completed, the squad returned to their hotel to rest ahead of Tuesday’s game.
The players were also scheduled to take part in a video session at 7:30pm on Monday evening.
That meeting was dedicated to studying Burundi and reviewing the final details of the match, giving the team another opportunity to analyse their opponents before the two sides meet.
The combination of the training session and evening video analysis marked the final stage of Algeria’s preparations for their second outing in the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
The timing of Monday’s training was also intended to replicate the conditions expected on matchday, with the session taking place at the same local time as Tuesday’s fixture.
For Hemdani, the final preparations therefore covered both the technical and tactical aspects of the game and the practical challenge of playing on the synthetic pitch at Intwari Stadium.
The Algerian players will now turn their attention fully to the match as they prepare to face Burundi in Bujumbura.
The final training session gave the squad the chance to adjust to their surroundings, while the scheduled video analysis was set to provide the final review of their opponents before kick-off.
With the preparations complete, Algeria will face Burundi on Tuesday in their second match of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
