Spanish-Malian centre-forward Umaru Konare has joined AD Ceuta from Elche CF on loan, completing a move that takes the 22-year-old into LaLiga2.
Konare’s switch was completed on 1 September 2026, with the forward joining Ceuta until 30 June 2027. He returns to Elche at the end of the loan, with no permanent transfer fee attached to the move.
Born in Monforte del Cid, Spain, Konare is eligible to represent both Spain and Mali. He plays as a centre-forward and is right-footed, offering Ceuta an attacking option as they compete in Spain’s second tier.
The move comes after Konare made one LaLiga appearance for Elche during the 2026-27 campaign. He did not start that match and has played eight minutes this season, without scoring or providing an assist.
Konare joined Elche from the club’s reserve side, Elche Ilicitano, on 1 July 2026. Before that, he spent time with UD Barbastro on loan during the 2024-25 season, having joined the club from Elche Ilicitano in February 2025. That spell ended when he returned to Elche’s reserve team on 30 June 2025.
His senior career began with CF Intercity B, which he joined from P.Iglesias U19 in July 2023. He moved to Elche Ilicitano a year later on a free transfer, establishing the route that eventually led to his promotion to Elche’s first team.
Konare has made one senior LaLiga appearance in his career, playing 21 minutes, and now switches from a top-flight club to AD Ceuta for the 2026-27 season. The forward’s arrival gives the Ceuta squad a player with experience of Elche’s senior set-up and recent exposure to first-team football.
The loan agreement between AD Ceuta and Elche CF runs until 30 June 2027, when Konare is due to return to the LaLiga club.
