Achraf Dari: Morocco defender linked with Al-Shamal move from Al Ahly

Morocco centre-back Achraf Dari of Al Ahly is being linked with a move to Qatari Stars League side Al-Shamal SC as the 27-year-old attracts interest from the Gulf. The defender, who is under contract with the Egyptian champions until June 2028, is understood to be on Al-Shamal’s shortlist as they look to strengthen at the heart of their back line.

Dari joined Al Ahly from French club Stade Brestois in August 2024 for a fee of €1.8m and has since added both the Egyptian league title and the FIFA African-Asian-Pacific Cup to his honours list. His current market valuation stands at around €1.2m, a figure that is likely to frame any negotiations between the clubs.

Al Ahly briefly sent Dari on loan to Swedish side Kalmar FF in March 2026 before recalling him at the end of the season, and his future in Cairo now appears uncertain amid interest from Qatar. The move would mark another step in a career that has already taken him from Wydad Casablanca, where he won the 2021–22 CAF Champions League, to top-flight spells in France, Belgium and Sweden.

Primarily a right-footed centre-back, Dari has extensive experience in continental competition, with more than 40 appearances in the CAF Champions League. For now he remains an Al Ahly player with two years left on his deal, leaving the Egyptian club in a strong position should Al-Shamal decide to firm up their interest.
