Morocco international Achraf Dari is reportedly close to returning to Wydad Athletic Club from Egyptian giants Al Ahly during the ongoing summer transfer window.
Wydad have made significant progress in negotiations and are understood to have convinced the defender to return to the Casablanca club.
The two sides are now reportedly working to complete the remaining details, with an agreement potentially expected in the coming hours.
Dari set for loan move
Dari is expected to return to Wydad on loan, with the Moroccan club reportedly prepared to contribute towards his salary at Al Ahly.
The proposed move would see the defender return to a familiar environment as Wydad seek to reinforce their squad with an experienced player who already knows the club and Moroccan football.
Negotiations are at an advanced stage, although the final details of the agreement still need to be completed.
Al Ahly seek squad solution
Al Ahly are also keen to resolve Dari’s situation as they reorganise their squad during the transfer window.
The Egyptian giants reportedly want to remove the defender from their list of registered professional players, creating room for another addition.
A loan return to Wydad would therefore offer a solution for both sides. Wydad would strengthen their defence, while Al Ahly would gain greater flexibility with their squad registration.
If the remaining details are settled, Dari could soon return to Wydad in what would be one of the Moroccan club’s notable additions ahead of the new campaign.
