German-born forward of Ghanaian parentage, Ragnar Ache, continued his impressive form on Saturday as FC Köln played out a dramatic 3-3 draw with Borussia Mönchengladbach in their Bundesliga round 27 clash at the RheinEnergieStadion.
The encounter delivered early fireworks, with three goals arriving inside the opening 10 minutes in a fast-paced and entertaining contest that swung back and forth throughout.
Ache found the back of the net in the 7th minute, capitalising on Köln’s bright start after Said El Mala had opened the scoring just three minutes earlier. The hosts looked in control early on, but Gladbach quickly responded to keep the game finely balanced.
The visitors struck back almost immediately through Jens Castrop, who scored in the opening minute and later completed his brace in the 60th minute. Philipp Sander also added his name to the scoresheet, ensuring Gladbach remained firmly in the contest.
Köln, however, refused to back down. After being pegged back, they continued to push forward and eventually restored parity late on, with Eric Martel netting in the 84th minute to secure a share of the spoils for the home side.
Ache’s goal adds to what has been a productive campaign for the forward, who now has six goals and three assists in 26 appearances this season. His consistency in front of goal has been a key asset for Köln as they navigate a competitive Bundesliga season.
