Stuttgart defender M. Mittelstadt believes his side deserved to take all three points from their 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid.
“After a performance like that, we should have won,” Mittelstadt told Gianlucadimarzio.com after the match.
The full-back has already turned his attention to Stuttgart’s upcoming fixtures against Galatasaray and Internazionale, with both matches offering the German side an opportunity to strengthen their hopes of reaching the playoffs.
“Both opponents are very tough, but we are on the right track,” he said. “We have a good starting point, and in the next few weeks, perhaps we can upset Galatasaray or Internazionale one after another, and then get closer to the playoffs.”
Mittelstadt also welcomed the prospect of facing Internazionale defender Yann Bisseck, who is a fellow German.
“Internazionale? I’m happy to play against Bisseck,” he said. “My wife is Italian, so playing in Italy is always great.”
