Juventus suffer worse Serie A start under Spalletti than Tudor’s troubled 2025-26 campaign

Juventus’ 3-0 home defeat by in-form Lazio has left Luciano Spalletti’s side with a worse record after seven Serie A matches than Igor Tudor’s team managed at the same stage last season.

The Bianconeri were comprehensively beaten by Gennaro Gattuso’s Lazio in Turin on Sunday evening and were loudly booed from the pitch at the final whistle. The result has increased the pressure on Spalletti at the Allianz Stadium.

Juventus have collected 11 points from their opening seven games, with three wins, two draws and two defeats. They are now eight points behind league leaders Inter and Lazio.

Their record is inferior to the one Tudor had established by this point in 2025-26. Juventus had won three, drawn three and lost one of their first seven matches last season, giving them 12 points one more than their current total.

Tudor was dismissed after Juventus’ eighth Serie A fixture, having taken 12 points from those eight games. Spalletti was eventually appointed as his replacement almost a year ago, on October 30, 2025.

The latest setback has therefore placed Spalletti under renewed scrutiny, with Juventus struggling to match even the start that preceded Tudor’s departure.

Motta and Tudor remain on Juventus’ payroll, while the source article’s accompanying headline describes them as “laughing from the beach”.
