Lazio moved joint-top with Inter after beating Juventus 3-0 at the Allianz Stadium, leaving Luciano Spalletti’s side eight points off the lead after seven matches and facing a furious reaction from their supporters.
Juventus were booed loudly as goals from Adam Provstgaard, Gustav Isaksen and Boulaye Dia sealed Lazio’s first victory at the stadium in nine years. Some home fans had already left before the final whistle, while Gennaro Gattuso’s side celebrated a result that gives them their best start to a season.
The defeat leaves Juventus eighth with 11 points from seven games. Spalletti admitted he was surprised by the performance and said he had not liked “certain attitudes”.
“I’m also surprised, I didn’t like certain attitudes,” said the Juventus coach. “We need hearts and heads.”
Bremer also delivered a strong assessment of the team’s display. “I’m not pointing the finger, but there are some people lying low. I can’t take it all on my shoulders,” he said.
Lazio had threatened before the breakthrough, with Nuno Tavares hitting the bar. Provstgaard then opened the scoring before Isaksen and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru completed a comprehensive victory in the second half.
Milan hold on after Atalanta fightback
AC Milan climbed to fourth despite surrendering a three-goal advantage before beating Atalanta 3-2 in a match that ended in mounting tension.
Goncalo Ramos converted a penalty before Adrien Rabiot and Matteo Gila added further goals during a dominant first hour. Ramos later missed another penalty, and Atalanta responded through Gianluca Gaetano and Nikola Krstovic to set up a difficult finish.
Mike Maignan was required to make decisive saves to protect the win. Rabiot was critical of Milan’s collapse, saying: “I’m furious, you can’t collapse like that.”
Ruben Amorim said the team had lost control after going 3-1 up. “The tension rose after 3-1, that wasn’t good,” he said. Atalanta manager Maurizio Sarri also took issue with the referee.
Fiorentina’s 3-1 defeat by Como left them second-bottom. Referee Marco Di Bello and VAR were criticised after a foul was alleged in the build-up to Cristobal Liberali’s opening goal, while there were strong doubts over the decision to disallow Marin Pongracic’s effort for 2-2.
“Everyone saw it,” said Fiorentina manager Paolo Vanoli.
Roma tie down Lulli
Roma have secured Lulli’s future until 2031 after he won over Gian Piero Gasperini and the club’s supporters. Roma host Slovan in the Champions League at the Olimpico tomorrow, with Gianluca Mancini, Wesley and Donyell Malen returning.
Lecce’s 3-0 victory over Udinese, secured by goals from Kialonda Gaspar, N’Dri and Noah Sibert, increased pressure on Udinese manager Paolo Zanetti. Kosta Runjaic is now in a precarious position, with Zanetti alerted.
Elsewhere, Nikola Vlasic is expected to start on the wing for Torino away to Parma this evening. Victory would take Torino level with Napoli. The region and council have also renewed their commitment to the museum at Fila.
