Ismaila Sarr will remain at Crystal Palace this season despite a summer of speculation over his future, but the Senegal international could soon be offered an improved contract at Selhurst Park.
According to Sky Sports, Crystal Palace’s hierarchy want to extend the 28-year-old forward’s stay. Sarr is already under contract with the Eagles until June 2029, but discussions have taken place between his representatives and the London club over a revised agreement.
Those talks have not yet produced a final deal, with both sides still needing to resolve several issues before an extension can be completed.
Sarr’s form has strengthened his position in the negotiations. The Senegal forward has produced a series of solid performances, maintaining his value in the transfer market and attracting attention from a number of leading Premier League clubs.
Galatasaray continue to follow developments
Galatasaray are also monitoring the situation closely after making a formal offer for Sarr during the summer transfer window.
The Istanbul club is currently choosing to wait and assess how the discussions between Sarr and Crystal Palace develop before deciding whether to make another official approach, according to journalist Ekrem Konur.
There have been no direct negotiations between Crystal Palace and Galatasaray at this stage. However, the Turkish side could revive its interest if the contract talks break down and the financial conditions prove favourable.
Sarr, who was born in Saint-Louis, is valued at 45 million euros by Transfermarkt. His annual salary is listed as 4,348,684 euros, equivalent to 2,826,644,600 FCFA.
Crystal Palace’s next fixture is against Nottingham Forest in the sixth round of the English championship. The betting company 1xbet lists Crystal Palace at 2.55 to win, with a draw priced at 3.10 and a Nottingham Forest victory at 2.45.
