Orlando Pirates attacker Oswin Appollis is being monitored by Strasbourg, although the French club has not yet decided whether to make an offer for the Bafana Bafana international.
Global transfer expert Ekrem Konur reports that Strasbourg scouts continue to follow Appollis, while clubs from Portugal and Spain are also understood to be interested in the winger.
“Exclusive: Strasbourg scouts continue monitoring Oswin Appollis. Offer still uncertain. Radar: Portuguese & Spanish clubs also interested,” Konur said.
The reported interest follows an outstanding first season for Appollis after his R16 million move from Polokwane City to Orlando Pirates before the 2025/26 season.
The Bishop Lavis-born forward has scored 14 goals and provided eight assists in all domestic competitions. He helped Orlando Pirates win the MTN8, Carling Knockout Cup and Betway Premiership title.
Appollis has mainly played as a left winger or attacking midfielder, but has also taken on greater defensive responsibility. That development has allowed him to make an impact in both attacking and defensive areas.
His debut campaign at Orlando Pirates ended with three major domestic honours. The club won the MTN8 and Carling Knockout Cup before ending Mamelodi Sundowns’ long-standing dominance of the Betway Premiership.
Appollis’ contribution was also recognised at the PSL Awards, where he was named Betway Premiership Midfielder of the Season.
The 25-year-old has become an important attacking option for Bafana Bafana as well.
One of his most notable international displays came in the 5-0 AFCON qualifying win against Eritrea. Appollis recorded three assists and created several further chances during the match.
He also scored once and provided an assist in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho.
Strasbourg are now reportedly continuing to assess the player, with clubs in Portugal and Spain said to be following his progress too.
No formal offer has been reported, so Appollis remains an Orlando Pirates player. However, the interest from European clubs places his future among the potential transfer issues to watch.
