Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Internazionale forward Pio Esposito, according to SportMediaset, with Manchester United and Barcelona also reportedly tracking the Italy international.
Scouts from the Premier League club observed Esposito in Bursa last Monday, despite heavy rain, as he helped secure a 4-1 victory with a diving header.
The 20-year-old has recently been given starting opportunities for both Internazionale and the Italian national team, including matches in Belgium, Turkey and France. His performances have strengthened the view that he could become an important player for Italy in the present and over the longer term.
Esposito remains capable of improving his finishing, but his overall contribution has made him a valuable option. Internazionale and Italy have both used his ability to receive the ball with his back to goal and help build attacks when opponents apply a high press.
Arsenal are already familiar with the forward. Esposito came on as a substitute against them in the Champions League last January and caused their defence significant problems. His display also prompted discussion among Arsenal supporters on social media.
The forward recently extended his contract with Internazionale until 2032 and is said to be happy and settled at the club.
TeamTalk reports that Manchester United and Barcelona are monitoring Esposito alongside Arsenal. Internazionale regard him as an important part of their plans for the future, although the level of spending by Premier League clubs in recent transfer windows could eventually turn the reported interest into formal bids.
For now, Esposito remains under contract at Internazionale, with his latest performances for club and country continuing to attract attention from leading European clubs.
