UEFA tells Real Madrid to be patient over Negreira case

Real Madrid have been told by UEFA to remain calm and patient while the organisation examines a 50,000-page dossier submitted by the Spanish club concerning the Negreira case involving Barcelona.

UEFA confirmed that it had received the documents before Real Madrid issued a statement calling for the investigation to be completed as quickly as possible.

“Real Madrid considers it essential that, once UEFA has these documents, the investigation should proceed as swiftly as possible until it is finally concluded, and that the relevant authorities should take the appropriate decisions in line with the seriousness of the proven facts,” the club said.

The statement amounted to a demand for UEFA to reach a decision on the case without delay.

However, UEFA’s response was that it would take as much time as necessary to study all the documentation before deciding what action, if any, should follow.

Mundo Deportivo, citing OK Diario, reported that UEFA had told Real Madrid it must show calm and patience while the matter is considered.

Real Madrid remain convinced they will pursue the case to its conclusion. The club also intends to continue applying pressure until the investigation is resolved.
