Tottenham are interested in signing Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma, with manager Roberto De Zerbi keen to work with the Japan international again, according to TEAMtalk.
Brighton have been unable to reach an agreement with the 29-year-old over a new contract. His current deal expires next summer, creating uncertainty over whether the club will sell him in the winter transfer window or keep him until the end of his contract.
Tottenham could seek to take advantage of the situation, with De Zerbi personally interested in bringing Mitoma to London. The Italian previously worked with the winger at Brighton.
Liverpool and Bayern are also reported to be monitoring Mitoma’s situation, meaning Tottenham face competition for his signature.
It remains unclear whether Brighton would be prepared to allow the player to leave during the winter or instead attempt to extend his stay at the club.
Mitoma has not played this season as he continues his recovery from injury. Transfermarkt values the winger at 22 million euros.
