Anis Hadj-Moussa and Adem Zorgane have withdrawn from the Algeria squad after sustaining injuries during the team’s recent matches against Zambia and Burundi.
Both players suffered physical problems during those games, and Algeria’s medical staff decided not to take any risks with their recovery.
Further examinations carried out locally confirmed that neither player could be selected safely for the squad’s final friendly match of the international break.
Their departures leave head coach Algeria with tactical decisions to make before that fixture. Hadj-Moussa and Zorgane have become increasingly important members of the squad, with the former providing an attacking threat and the latter offering valuable strength and control in midfield.
The medical team’s decision means both players have now been released from international duty. They will return to their respective clubs, where they are expected to begin their treatment protocols immediately.
