Burkina Faso international Issoufou Dayo is set to join Wydad after his proposed move to Moroccan club Moghreb Tétouan broke down on the final day of the transfer window.
The 35-year-old central defender had appeared to have agreed a one-year contract with Moghreb Tétouan, but the deal ultimately failed to materialise after he increased his financial demands.
Dayo is now expected to complete a move to Wydad, with the Burkina Faso defender set to sign his contract with the Moroccan club in the coming hours.
The development represents a late twist in the transfer situation involving the experienced defender, who had previously reached an agreement with Moghreb Tétouan.
An official of Moghreb de Tétouan confirmed that Dayo would no longer be joining the club, explaining that his revised salary demands prevented the transfer from being completed.
The two parties had initially agreed terms for a one-year contract, and the arrangement had appeared to be settled.
However, the situation changed after Dayo raised his financial expectations.
That development is understood to have changed the situation after the defender had already reached an agreement with Tétouan.
Moghreb Tétouan, however, was not prepared to match the new financial demands.
