Egyptian-Danish winger Alexander Jakobsen, currently without a club, is being linked with a move to Vietnamese side Bac Ninh in V.League 1.
Jakobsen, 32, has been without a club since leaving RKC Waalwijk in July 2025. The left winger joined the Dutch club from Kazakhstan side Zhenis on a free transfer in August 2024, but his spell in the Netherlands ended after one season.
The proposed move would see Jakobsen return to club football after more than a year without a team. Bac Ninh are the club named in connection with the rumour, although there is no indication that a transfer has been agreed or that personal terms have been finalised.
Jakobsen has represented both Egypt and Denmark at youth level, and was part of the Egypt Under-20 side that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2013. He also won the Georgian title with Dinamo Batumi in the 2022-23 season.
His career has included spells in Denmark, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Egypt, Georgia and Kazakhstan. In Sweden’s Allsvenskan, he made 79 appearances, scoring seven goals and recording eight assists.
The winger’s most recent club was RKC Waalwijk, but he is presently a free agent, leaving any potential move to Bac Ninh dependent on an agreement being reached between the player and the Vietnamese club.
