Club africain shut down Al-Sharimi exit rumours

Speculation surrounding the future of Libyan international Osama Al-Sharimi at Club Africain has been firmly denied, with sources insisting the midfielder remains committed to the Tunisian side despite recent reports suggesting a possible departure.

The 25-year-old, who joined the Tunisian league leaders last July on a free transfer from Al-Suwaihli SC, has been the subject of rumours linking him with a move away during the upcoming summer transfer window.

However, an informed source speaking to WinWin has rejected those claims outright, describing them as unfounded.

“There is absolutely no truth to the rumors circulating on social media about the Libyan star leaving Club Africain of Tunisia next summer.”

Reduced Playing Time Sparks Speculation

Recent reports appear to have been driven by the player’s limited involvement in recent matches under head coach Faouzi Benzarti. Al-Sharimi has featured for just 19 minutes across the club’s last five league fixtures, raising questions about his standing within the squad.

Despite this, the source dismissed suggestions of tension between player and coach.

“There is no crisis at the moment between Osama Al-Sharimi and Fawzi Al-Banzarti, the coach of Club Africain, because of the player’s lack of participation in the recent matches with the Tunisian team in the league, and the player’s relationship with the club’s management and technical staff is excellent.”

Strong Commitment to Current Contract

Al-Sharimi remains under contract with Club Africain for two seasons, and there has been no indication from the player himself that he is seeking an early exit.

“What is being circulated on social media platforms is just rumors to disrupt the stability of the player, who is committed to the Tunisian club with a two-season contract, and the Libyan national team midfielder has not spoken to anyone, near or far, about leaving before that.”

The statement suggests that the midfielder is focused on maintaining stability and continuing his development within the club setup.

Season Performance and Role

Since arriving in Tunisia, Al-Sharimi has made 13 appearances across all competitions, including 12 in the domestic league and one in the Tunisian Cup. He has accumulated a total of 954 minutes on the pitch this season.

While his recent playing time has been limited, his overall contribution earlier in the campaign indicates that he has played a role in the team’s progress.

Emerging Talent in Libyan Football

Al-Sharimi is regarded as one of the most promising talents in Libyan football in recent seasons. Known for his technical ability and creativity, he has established himself as an important figure for the Libya national football team.

His development at club level is seen as crucial to his continued growth on the international stage, further underlining the importance of stability at this stage of his career.

Rumours Dismissed as Focus Remains on Development

Despite speculation fueled by reduced playing time, Osama Al-Sharimi’s future at Club Africain appears secure for now. With no evidence of internal conflict or transfer intent, the midfielder is expected to remain with the Tunisian club and continue his progression. As the season unfolds, his role within the squad may yet evolve, but for now, reports of a summer departure have been firmly denied.
