Juventus are considering a late move for Manchester City left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri, but the English champions are not currently showing any willingness to let the Algeria international leave.
With the transfer window approaching its conclusion, the Italian club are assessing whether to pursue the 25-year-old as they seek to strengthen their defensive options on the left. The interest has been reported by Tuttomercatoweb, which says Juventus have been monitoring Ait-Nouri for several weeks.
Luciano Spalletti is understood to be particularly keen on the player’s profile and has made the position a priority. Juventus could therefore make an approach during the final days of the transfer window, although their prospects of completing a deal appear uncertain.
Ait-Nouri joined Manchester City from Wolverhampton and has quickly become a more important member of the squad. That growing role is a significant obstacle for Juventus, with Manchester City apparently unwilling to part with the defender unless they receive an offer strong enough to change their position.
The Algeria international remains under contract at Manchester City until June 2030. His current market value is estimated at 40m euros by Transfermarkt, a figure which further underlines the scale of the potential investment required by Juventus.
Unless an especially convincing proposal is made, Manchester City are expected to keep Ait-Nouri. The club’s long-term commitment to the player, together with his increased importance in the squad, means Juventus may find it difficult to prise him away before the window closes.
The Turin club’s interest comes as they prepare to face Frosinone in the opening round of the Italian championship. The match is scheduled to take place very soon, with betting company 1xBet listing Frosinone at 6.20 to win, a draw at 4.15 and Juventus at 1.19.
Those odds reflect Juventus’ status as strong favourites for the fixture, but the immediate focus away from the match will be on whether the club can make progress in their pursuit of Ait-Nouri. Spalletti would welcome the addition of the left-back, yet Manchester City’s apparent determination to retain him leaves the Italian side facing a demanding negotiation.
For now, Ait-Nouri remains a Manchester City player and is tied to the club for another four years beyond the current campaign. Juventus may still test the English club’s resolve before the transfer deadline, but only a particularly attractive offer is likely to open the door to an agreement.
