Tawfik Bentayeb has completed his transfer from Union Touarga Sport to Anderlecht after signing a four-year contract with the Brussels club.
The Morocco forward received permission from the Union Touarga Sport board to travel to Belgium and complete the final formalities of the move, following the transfer’s initial announcement by Africafoot on Thursday morning.
Bentayeb had been waiting for the administrative documents required for his journey before travelling to Belgium. Once there, the remaining procedures were concluded quickly, allowing him to sign his new contract and formally become an Anderlecht player.
According to information from Sacha Tavolieri, Bentayeb put pen to paper on the four-year agreement on Thursday afternoon. The deal will keep him with Anderlecht until 2030 and represents an important step in the striker’s career as he prepares to experience a new league and compete for one of Belgium’s leading clubs.
The 23-year-old now leaves Union Touarga Sport to begin the next chapter of his career in the Belgian top flight. Anderlecht see his arrival as an addition to their attacking options and will be hoping his qualities can strengthen the squad for the remainder of the season.
The transfer had been reported earlier in the day, but Bentayeb’s signature means the move is now officially complete. He will wear the colours of Anderlecht after finalising his switch to the Brussels-based side.
His arrival comes shortly before Anderlecht’s Europa League qualification play-off first leg against Kairat Almaty. The Belgian club will face the Kazakh side in the opening match of that tie, with the transfer completed as the team prepares for the fixture.
Betting company 1xbet lists Anderlecht as favourites for the match, with the club priced at 2.17 to win. A draw is listed at 3.54, while Kairat Almaty are priced at 3.47.
