Chelsea transfer news: Nottingham Forest join Liam Delap race as Pedro Neto attracts Al-Hilal interest

Nottingham Forest have joined the contenders for Chelsea striker Liam Delap, while Pedro Neto has emerged as a potential target for both Manchester City and Al-Hilal, according to Monday’s transfer reports.

Forest are interested in signing Delap from Chelsea, with talkSPORT reporting that they have entered the race for the England forward. The report does not state whether a formal offer has been made, but Forest’s interest adds another club to the list of potential destinations for the striker.

Delap’s possible departure is one of two Chelsea-related stories featuring prominently in the latest transfer speculation. Manchester City are facing competition from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal in their pursuit of Portugal international Neto, who is also currently at Chelsea, talkSPORT reports.

City and Al-Hilal are both credited with an interest in Neto, although no agreement is reported to have been reached for the winger. The two clubs’ reported interest places Neto among the Chelsea players whose futures are attracting attention this summer.

Elsewhere, Christopher Nkunku has reportedly been deemed surplus to requirements at AC Milan. Newcastle United are among the clubs linked with a move for the France forward this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The report identifies Newcastle as one of the teams monitoring Nkunku, but does not indicate that a transfer has been agreed. His situation at AC Milan is described as having changed, with the club said to no longer regard him as part of their requirements.

Arsenal are also keeping an eye on a player in the Bundesliga. Christian Kofane’s agent, Eric Depolo, says the Gunners are monitoring the Bayer Leverkusen forward, the Daily Mirror reports.

No bid or agreement involving Arsenal and Kofane has been reported. The information comes from his representative, who says the London club are watching the player’s situation.

Nottingham Forest feature in another transfer report, with the club said to be admirers of Rennes midfielder Jordan James. The Daily Mirror reports Forest’s interest in the midfielder, although there is no suggestion that a deal has been completed.

Braga have reached an £8m agreement with Barcelona for the signing of Tommy Marques, according to The Athletic. Marques is a La Masia graduate, and the reported transfer would take him from Barcelona to the Portuguese club for the stated fee.

Manchester United are stepping up their efforts to generate income from their academy, with English left-back Harry Amass potentially set to leave. The Daily Mail reports that Amass could move for about £7m, with additional payments also included in the potential deal.

The reports form part of Monday’s newspaper transfer round-up, with Chelsea players, academy prospects and targets across England and Europe all featuring in the latest speculation.
