Rafael Leao has dismissed reports claiming Ruben Amorim views him as a negative influence at AC Milan, calling the allegations lies in a public response on social media.
Reports in Italy have suggested that Amorim has concerns about Leao for both tactical and dressing-room reasons. The claims portray the Portugal winger as a source of negativity within the AC Milan squad and suggest that his future at the club could be uncertain.
A post by Transfer News Live on X referred to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport which alleged that Amorim was unhappy with Leao’s influence inside the dressing room.
The post stated:
“Ruben Amorim views Rafael Leao as a negative influence within the AC Milan dressing room.
“The Portuguese coach is believed to have concerns over the winger’s impact on the squad environment.

Leao responded directly beneath the post, rejecting the claims with a brief message:
“Maybe you’re because you lying 😂😂😂”
The comments come as Leao deals with a muscle injury that will rule him out of AC Milan’s next and final pre-season fixture against Manchester United.
His absence has added to speculation about his position at the club, with further reports claiming that he is looking for a way to leave AC Milan. According to LeedsLive, the club has been offering the 27-year-old around Europe as it considers a possible sale.
Galatasaray, Besiktas and Fenerbahce have all reportedly made proposals to Leao. However, the winger is expected to remain at AC Milan, with the available information indicating that he continues to have good relations with both the club and Amorim.
The reports have therefore created a contrast between speculation over Leao’s future and the player’s own public reaction. While claims in Italy have raised questions about his standing within the squad and his relationship with the manager, Leao has used social media to strongly deny the account of events.
For now, his immediate involvement with AC Milan is affected by the muscle problem, meaning he will miss the meeting with Manchester United. That fixture is the club’s final pre-season game, while the uncertainty around Leao’s longer-term future continues despite his rejection of the rumours.
