Bruma is considering a return to Turkey as the Guinea-Bissau-born winger looks to revive his career after being left out of Benfica’s first-team squad.
The 31-year-old has been training separately from the main group at the Portuguese club and is seeking a move before the end of the summer transfer window.
According to Record, Bruma’s preferred destination is Turkey, where he spent three seasons with Galatasaray after moving to the Istanbul club as an 18-year-old in 2013.
The winger has extensive experience in European football and has played in Portugal, Germany, the Netherlands, Greece and Turkey during his career.
His familiarity with Turkish football could make the country an attractive destination as he searches for regular playing time and an opportunity to rebuild his career.
Bruma joined Galatasaray at the beginning of his senior career and gradually became an important attacking player for the Istanbul side.
During his three seasons with the club, he made 85 official appearances, scoring 15 goals and providing 21 assists, according to statistics cited from Transfermarkt.
His pace, direct running and ability to beat defenders were among the qualities that made him one of the promising young attackers in Turkish football at the time.
His spell in Turkey also brought silverware. Bruma was part of the Galatasaray team that won the Turkish championship in the 2014-15 season, as well as the Turkish Cup and Turkish Super Cup.
That successful period is one reason Turkey remains an appealing option for the player as he considers his next move.
Bruma subsequently continued his career across several European leagues.
He played for RB Leipzig in Germany and PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands before spells with Olympiakos, Fenerbahçe and Braga. He eventually returned to Portugal with Benfica.
His time at PSV also produced domestic success, with the winger winning the Dutch championship in the 2017-18 season.
Across those different leagues, Bruma developed a reputation as a versatile wide attacker capable of operating on either flank.
His international career followed a similar path. Born in Guinea-Bissau, he represented Portugal at youth level before progressing to the senior national team.
He also featured for Portugal at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, adding major international tournament experience to his club career.
Bruma’s current situation at Benfica, however, has created uncertainty over his future.
Being excluded from the squad and required to train away from the main group has prompted the winger to consider leaving Lisbon this summer.
With his market value reportedly around €3m, his experience could make him an attractive option for Turkish clubs seeking an attacking player who can provide creativity and pace.
A move would also allow Bruma to return to a country where he has already enjoyed one of the most productive periods of his career.
