OGC Nice have confirmed they have received no formal offers for Mohamed Abdelmonem and have categorically ruled out transferring the defender, who is expected to continue his career with the French club.
The 27-year-old remains under contract with OGC Nice after a difficult period dominated by injury. He missed the whole of the 2025-26 season after suffering a serious cruciate ligament injury before later sustaining an ankle sprain.
Despite those setbacks, Abdelmonem has now returned to training. His comeback came at the end of July, following a brief appearance at the World Cup.
Nice’s position is clear: there has been no official proposal for the player, and the club does not intend to consider a transfer. That stance means Abdelmonem remains part of the club’s plans rather than being treated as a player available to leave during the current period.
The defender joined OGC Nice in 2024 in a deal worth €5.2m, including bonuses. He remains tied to the French club and is expected to hold formal discussions with his representatives in the near future to determine how his future will be organised in the Nice shirt.
Those talks are expected to focus on his plans with the club through to 2028. The discussions will take place as he works to re-establish himself after a season without competitive football and resumes training following his injury problems.
Abdelmonem’s absence during the 2025-26 campaign followed the serious damage to his cruciate ligaments and the subsequent ankle injury, which further disrupted his return. His brief participation at the World Cup came before he resumed training at the end of July.
For now, however, there is no indication of a departure. With no formal offer received and Nice excluding a transfer, the immediate expectation is that Abdelmonem will remain at the club and continue preparing for the next stage of his career in France.
The forthcoming discussions with his representatives will provide the next opportunity to clarify his long-term position. Any plans will be made against the backdrop of his existing commitment to OGC Nice, which currently runs through 2028.
