Galatasaray are keeping close watch on Salis Abdul Samed’s situation at OGC Nice, with the Ghana international permitted to look for a new club before the summer transfer window closes.
The Turkish champions have not yet made an official offer for the 26-year-old midfielder, but their interest is understood to be genuine, according to Footy-Africa. Galatasaray’s hierarchy are assessing several options to strengthen their midfield and could move for Abdul Samed if the conditions become favourable in the coming weeks.
Abdul Samed’s future at OGC Nice has become increasingly uncertain after he struggled for regular playing time. The club no longer appears to regard him as a central part of its plans, leaving the player and the club open to the possibility of a separation.
The midfielder joined OGC Nice with high expectations but has not been able to reproduce the form he showed at RC Lens. His limited involvement last season underlined the difficulties he has faced, with Abdul Samed making 18 Ligue 1 appearances.
A move to Galatasaray could offer him the opportunity to regain an important role at an ambitious club and revive the performances that established his reputation in Ligue 1. However, no transfer has been agreed and Galatasaray have yet to submit a formal proposal.
Abdul Samed remains under contract with OGC Nice until June 2028. His estimated value is €4m, according to Transfermarkt, meaning any potential move would need to be negotiated between the two clubs.
Before joining OGC Nice, Abdul Samed had built a strong reputation during his time with RC Lens. His current situation, however, has led both player and club to consider a change that could allow him to relaunch his career.
The Ghanaian previously earned an annual salary of €840,000 (546,000,000 FCFA) with the Sang & Or. Galatasaray’s interest could develop further if the Istanbul club decides that Abdul Samed is the right option for its midfield, but the Turkish side are continuing to study their alternatives.
