Kaizer Chiefs have announced the arrival of Faiz Abrahams from Stellenbosch FC on a season-long loan, with an option to make the transfer permanent.
The 21-year-old winger becomes the club’s sixth signing of the current transfer window as Kaizer Chiefs continue to reshape their squad at Naturena ahead of the new campaign.
Abrahams joins a growing group of new arrivals at the club. He follows Thabo Moloisane, Renaldo Leaner, Adolf Mtasingwa and Langelihle Phili through the door, while Khanyisa Mayo has also completed a permanent move after initially joining Kaizer Chiefs on loan in January.
The move represents another opportunity for Abrahams to build on his experience in South Africa’s top flight. He made his Betway Premiership debut for Stellenbosch FC in April 2024, one day after his 19th birthday.
Born in Bishop Lavis, the attacker later spent time on loan in Israel, where he gained valuable experience outside South Africa. He returned to his home country last season and featured for Stellenbosch FC.
Abrahams has also represented South Africa at international level. He played a significant part in Amajita’s success at the 2025 Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations, contributing one assist in three appearances as the team won the tournament.
His versatility is expected to add further options to the Kaizer Chiefs attack. Abrahams can operate on either wing or in an attacking midfield role and arrives with a reputation for his pace, creativity and direct approach in the final third.
Kaizer Chiefs will hope the new signing can make an immediate impact as they prepare to face Lamontville Golden Arrows in the MTN8 quarter-final on Sunday. The match will be played at FNB Stadium.
The addition of Abrahams takes the number of new players recruited by Amakhosi to six during the current transfer window. The club are continuing to strengthen their squad before what is expected to be a demanding domestic and continental campaign.
Abrahams’ loan deal also gives Kaizer Chiefs the chance to assess his progress over the course of the season before deciding whether to make the move permanent. His arrival adds another young attacking player to a squad that is being built with both immediate competition and longer-term development in mind.
The winger’s experience in the Betway Premiership, exposure during his spell in Israel and contribution to Amajita’s continental triumph all form part of the profile he brings to Naturena. He now has the opportunity to continue that development with one of South Africa’s most prominent clubs.
