Nicolas Jackson has been suspended for two Bundesliga matches following his red card for violent conduct during Bayern Munich’s 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen.
The ruling was confirmed after review by league authorities.
Jackson was dismissed during the heated encounter after an incident that officials determined fell under the category of violent conduct.
The disciplinary ruling by the DFB Sport Court confirms that Jackson will sit out more than one match.
League authorities cited the nature of the foul and the need to uphold disciplinary standards as key factors in the two-match ban.
Club officials have not contested the decision.
As a result of the suspension, the 24-year-old striker will miss Bayern Munich’s upcoming league fixtures against Union Berlin on 21 March and SC Freiburg on 4 April.
He will be eligible to return in the Bundesliga for the clash with FC St. Pauli on 11 April.
Jackson’s absence comes at a crucial time for Bayern’s attacking line, as the team navigates a competitive stretch of matches in the league campaign.
Though primarily serving as a backup forward, he has been a useful contributor this season, and the coaching staff will need to adjust their options upfront in his absence.
Prior to the incident against Leverkusen, Jackson had delivered several performances, showing promise and consistency in attack.
However, his dismissal has now disrupted his season rhythm and temporarily limits his contribution to the team.
Bayern Munich will hope to maintain momentum without Jackson in the squad.
Meanwhile, speculation continues over whether starting striker Harry Kane will be available for the Union Berlin fixture, which could help offset the absence of Jackson in attack.
