Cameroon striker Daniel Fotso has joined Italian side Oltrepo on a one-year contract after a spell without a club. The 23-year-old centre-forward has signed until 30 June 2027 and arrives as a free agent following his departure from Sant’Elena last season.
Fotso, born in Douala and standing at 1.82m, plays primarily through the middle and is right-footed. His move to Oltrepo marks a return to Serie D, having previously featured in the division with Acireale, where he arrived on a free transfer from Georgian top-flight club Torpedo Kutaisi in December 2022.
Before his time in Georgia and Italy’s lower leagues, Fotso spent several years in high-level youth systems. He came through Atalanta’s set-up before moving to Roma’s academy, progressing from Roma’s youth ranks into their Under-17 and Under-18 sides. In 2020 he left Roma for Dinamo Zagreb, representing Dinamo Zagreb II and later the club’s Under-19 team.
Fotso’s early record at youth level was eye-catching, with 21 goals in 25 appearances in Italy’s Under-17 competition and further experience in the UEFA Youth League. He later gained senior minutes in Croatia’s second tier, the Prva NL, and made appearances in Serie D, building a varied grounding across different European football cultures.
After leaving Acireale in 2023 and a brief stint with Sant’Elena in 2025, Fotso had been unattached until securing this move. His signing completes a free transfer to Oltrepo, where he will now look to establish himself over the course of his 2026-27 contract.
