Abdou-Rahmane Thior, the Senegal–French central midfielder, has joined Frejus Saint-Raphael on a free transfer from FC 93 Bobigny. The 24-year-old moves into National 1 Group C after finalising his switch on 28 July 2026.
Thior arrives at Frejus Saint-Raphael having spent the second half of last season with FC 93 Bobigny, also joining that club as a free agent earlier in the year. His latest move keeps him in the French league system but represents a step up in division, with Frejus competing in the national third tier.
Standing at 1.88m and operating primarily as a central midfielder, Thior brings significant experience from the National 2 ranks. Across recent campaigns at that level he has totalled over 80 appearances, contributing 10 league goals and several assists, and has also featured in the Coupe de France, where he found the net once in five outings.
Born in Bassoul and right-footed, Thior has built his senior career entirely in France. Before his stint at Bobigny, he played for Vannes following a move from SC Bastia’s reserve side, having previously been part of the Brest B set-up. His progression through these clubs has given him regular minutes in competitive senior football, including more than 2,500 minutes in one National 2 season alone.
Thior’s contract with Frejus Saint-Raphael begins immediately following his free transfer from FC 93 Bobigny, confirming his place in the squad for the 2026-27 National 1 Group C campaign.
