Werder Bremen are considering a move for German-Cameroonian centre-forward Noel Futkeu from Bundesliga rivals Eintracht Frankfurt. The 23-year-old, who joined Frankfurt this summer, has been linked with a switch within Germany’s top flight as Bremen assess attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
The probability of a deal at this stage is understood to be around 30%, with Bremen monitoring the situation rather than actively pushing for an agreement. Futkeu is currently valued at about €7.5 million, a figure likely to form the benchmark for any talks should interest develop into formal negotiations between the clubs.
Born in Essen and standing at 1.83m, the right-footed forward arrives at this point in his career on the back of a prolific season in the 2. Bundesliga, where he finished as top scorer in 2025-26 with 19 goals. He has twice claimed a top scorer accolade, having previously hit 30 goals in the Oberliga Niederrhein in 2022-23, achievements that have raised his profile among Bundesliga sides.
Futkeu’s move to Frankfurt, completed on 1 July 2026, was seen as a step up following his standout campaign in the second tier. His contractual terms at Eintracht have not been made public, but the club are expected to be in a strong position to dictate conditions should Bremen decide to firm up their interest later in the window.
