The Saudi Pro League has officially released the full Roshn Saudi League fixture schedule for the 2026-27 season, which will run from 13 August 2026 to 29 May 2027 and feature 18 clubs across 34 rounds and 306 matches.
The announcement followed a series of meetings and workshops between the Saudi Professional League and club representatives, during which officials reviewed the methodology for drawing up the calendar and the wider sporting schedule for the year.
Clubs were invited to give feedback and submit requests relating to the sequencing of fixtures and match dates before the final version of the schedule was approved.
League navigates congested international calendar
In compiling the fixtures, the league said it had to work around what it described as an exceptional calendar next season.
Eight Saudi clubs will be involved in four different international competitions, creating a complex picture alongside official FIFA international breaks and the planned commitments of the Saudi Arabia national team.
The schedule also had to accommodate Saudi Arabia’s role as host nation for the 2027 AFC Asian Cup, which placed further constraints on available dates and required careful planning of match distribution and kick-off timings.
League officials said these overlapping commitments posed significant challenges in balancing the domestic competition with continental and international obligations while ensuring all 18 clubs were treated fairly within the final fixture list.
