Ghanaian centre-forward Edmund Baidoo of Salzburg is being linked with a summer move to Belgian side Club Brugge as the Jupiler Pro League club assess attacking options for the new campaign.
The 20-year-old, who is under contract with the Austrian champions until 30 June 2029, has attracted interest after establishing himself in the Bundesliga with Salzburg. Club Brugge are understood to be exploring a deal that would require a significant fee, with Baidoo currently valued in the region of €8 million.
Baidoo joined Salzburg from Norwegian club Sogndal on 29 August 2024 for around €3.3 million and has since built a body of top-flight experience. He has made 45 league appearances for the club, scoring nine goals and providing six assists, as well as featuring in European competition, including the Europa League and Champions League qualifying rounds.
His development in Austria has drawn attention from recruiters across Europe, and Brugge’s interest reflects a broader strategy of targeting young players already proven in a competitive league. Any move, however, would require Salzburg to cash in on a player tied to a long-term deal and who has already logged close to 2,000 Bundesliga minutes for the club.
For now, Baidoo remains a Salzburg player with three years left on his current contract, and the Austrian side are under no immediate pressure to sell.
