Hakim Ziyech has begun preparations for the 2026/27 season by undertaking individual training sessions at Wydad Casablanca’s Mohammed Benjelloun training complex as he works towards full fitness ahead of the new campaign.
The Morocco international has been training daily at the club’s facilities while awaiting the start of collective pre-season preparations.
Ziyech focused on fitness
Ziyech’s personalised training programme is designed to ensure he returns in peak physical condition when Wydad resume full team training.
The club has yet to announce the official date for the start of pre-season, with plans expected to be confirmed following its general assembly scheduled for 21 July.
Until then, the experienced midfielder will continue working individually under the supervision of the club’s staff.
Wydad aiming for a stronger campaign
The individual sessions come as Wydad look to bounce back from a disappointing 2025/26 season.
The Casablanca giants finished fifth in the Botola Pro with 43 points after a difficult campaign that was undermined by inconsistent performances, particularly during the closing weeks of the season.
A series of poor results ultimately saw Wydad miss out on their objectives, prompting the club to begin preparations for a fresh start.
Attention turns to pre-season
Wydad are expected to intensify preparations once the full squad reconvenes for collective training after the club’s general assembly.
Supporters will be hoping the upcoming pre-season provides the platform for a much-improved campaign, with Ziyech expected to play an important role once he rejoins his teammates.
For now, the Moroccan international remains focused on regaining full match fitness as Wydad continue planning for the new season.
