Ghanaian-German winger Braydon Manu, currently without a club after leaving Cypriot side Akritas Chlorakas this summer, is being linked with a move to Cyprus League outfit Nea Salamis. The 29-year-old left-sided attacker, who is comfortable on both feet, became a free agent on 1 July and is understood to be on the radar of the Famagusta club as they look to strengthen their wide options.
Manu spent the second half of last season in Cyprus with Akritas after joining from Dutch side PEC Zwolle in January on a free transfer. His short stint in the Cyprus League brought 13 appearances, one goal and three assists, offering Nea Salamis recent, directly relevant evidence of his ability to adapt to the division.
Born in Itzehoe and developed in German youth football, Manu has built a career across several European leagues. He has featured in the Bundesliga, 2. Bundesliga and 3. Liga, with his most prolific spell coming in Germany’s second tier, where he registered 11 goals and 12 assists in 56 appearances. A move to PEC Zwolle from Darmstadt 98 in July 2024, followed by a loan to VfL Osnabruck earlier in the 2024-25 campaign, added Eredivisie and further 2. Bundesliga experience to his resume before his switch to Cyprus.
Manu, who won the Saxony-Anhalt Cup with Hallescher FC in 2018-19, is currently valued at around €275,000. With no contract tying him to another club, any agreement with Nea Salamis would be expected to take the form of a free transfer, leaving the winger’s immediate future dependent on negotiations in the coming weeks.
