Watford are closing in on the signing of German-born right-back Omar Traoré, who is of Togolese descent, as the club prepare to begin their summer recruitment drive with a focus on defensive reinforcements.
The 28-year-old became a free agent after the expiry of his contract at FC Heidenheim in Germany and is now expected to complete a move to the English club.

His performances across both the 3. Liga and later the 2. Bundesliga helped him earn recognition as a dependable and energetic full-back before leaving the club in 2023 at the end of his contract.
Known for his attacking contribution from the right flank as well as his defensive discipline, Traoré is seen as a versatile option who can contribute in both phases of play.
