Ayyoub Bouaddi has expressed his pride and excitement after officially committing his international future to Morocco, describing the decision as one made “with conviction and emotion.”
The 18-year-old midfielder, who plays for LOSC Lille, shared his thoughts in a video released by the Moroccan national team, where he thanked supporters for the warm reception he has received since confirming his allegiance to the Atlas Lions.
“I made my choice and I’m very proud of it. Everything is perfect here. A big thank you to the Moroccan people for your incredibly warm welcome,” Bouaddi said.
The teenage midfielder also praised Morocco’s sporting infrastructure, admitting he had been impressed by the quality of the national team environment.
“I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing quality of the facilities. Very few national teams in the world can compete at this level. I hope we will achieve great things together,” he added.
Bouaddi’s decision comes after months of speculation surrounding his international future. The highly rated youngster had attracted significant attention in France due to his rapid rise at Lille, but ultimately opted to represent Morocco at senior international level.
His choice has been widely celebrated by Moroccan supporters, many of whom view him as one of the brightest young midfield prospects in European football.
Known for his composure, technical quality and maturity beyond his age, Bouaddi has already established himself as one of the most promising talents emerging from Ligue 1. His development is now expected to play an important role in Morocco’s long-term plans ahead of future major tournaments, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The midfielder’s arrival also reflects Morocco’s continued success in attracting dual-nationality talents as the Atlas Lions strengthen a squad already filled with emerging stars competing across Europe’s top leagues.
Reaction across social media has been overwhelmingly positive, with many fans expressing excitement about Bouaddi’s future in Moroccan colours and his potential to become a key figure in the national team’s midfield for years to come.
