Zamalek technical director Moataz Gamal has decided to include five first-team players in his plans for Wednesday’s Egypt Capital Cup match against Zed, while also promoting young players from the club’s youth teams.
Zamalek will face Zed at 20:00 Cairo and Mecca time on Wednesday as the club continues its campaign in the Egypt Capital Cup.
Gamal has given Mahmoud Jihad, El-Sayed Osama, Saif Farouk Jaafar, Ahmed Hossam and goalkeeper Mahmoud El-Shenawy the opportunity to be involved in the match.
The five players are expected to participate according to the technical staff’s assessment during the game and the team’s requirements.
The decision forms part of Zamalek’s approach to the Capital Cup fixture, with the coaching staff keen to give playing time to players who have not featured regularly and those who require additional minutes.
Gamal’s decision will also allow the technical staff to assess the players’ physical condition and technical readiness while determining how effectively they can carry out their instructions during a competitive match.
Mahmoud Jihad, El-Sayed Osama, Saif Jaafar and Ahmed Hossam are among the outfield players included in the plans, while El-Shenawy has been selected as the goalkeeper.
The coaching staff believes the fixture provides an opportunity to make use of the available squad and assess a number of players who could be important during the current period.
Zamalek are also expected to use the match to give opportunities to players from the club’s youth system.
A number of youngsters born in 2007 and 2009 have been brought into the plans for the game, allowing them to experience first-team football and demonstrate their abilities at a higher level.
The decision to involve youth players is part of the coaching staff’s efforts to provide opportunities for emerging talents. Capital Cup matches offer a chance to assess younger players while allowing them to gain experience in competitive football.
Gamal is also keen to monitor the performances of the young players during the match and assess how they respond to the demands and atmosphere of first-team football.
Those who impress could subsequently be given greater opportunities with the senior side.
The coaching staff will therefore use the encounter with Zed for more than simply assessing the result. The match will provide an opportunity to evaluate the readiness of five first-team players while giving a group of young talents the chance to make an impression.
Zamalek’s plans for the match point to a combination of established first-team players and youth prospects, with Gamal seeking to make the most of the Capital Cup fixture.
The technical staff will use the game to assess the physical and technical condition of the available players while providing valuable competitive experience to the club’s younger generation.
