Burkina Faso could be without Dango Ouattara and goalkeeper Hervé Koffi when they face the Central African Republic in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Monday.
The Stallions take on the Central African Republic in Casablanca at 16:00 GMT, looking for their first victory after opening their Group F campaign with a 1-1 draw against Benin.
Ouattara missed the opening fixture and remains a doubt, while Koffi has also emerged as an injury concern for coach Amir Abdou.
Their potential absence could leave Abdou with selection decisions to make as Burkina Faso look to respond after dropping points at home against Benin.
The Stallions were unable to convert home advantage into three points and will now seek a stronger performance in Casablanca.
Both teams chasing first win
The Central African Republic will also be looking to recover from a disappointing opening result.
The Wild Beasts lost their first qualifier to Mauritania and head into Monday’s meeting without a point.
With Burkina Faso on one point and the Central African Republic yet to open their account, both sides have an early opportunity to improve their position in Group F.
The two nations have faced each other several times, with Burkina Faso holding a favourable record in recent meetings.
The Stallions defeated the Central African Republic 3-1 at home in October 2012 after losing the earlier encounter in Bangui 1-0.
Burkina Faso also won both meetings between the sides during the 2004 AFCON qualifiers, recording a 3-0 victory in Bangui before a 2-1 home win.
However, those results will have little bearing on Monday’s contest, with both teams focused on securing their first victory of the current qualifying campaign.
Burkina Faso will hope Ouattara and Koffi are available, while the Central African Republic will aim to use the fixture to recover from their opening defeat.
The Stallions and the Wild Beasts meet in Casablanca at 16:00 GMT, with three points at stake for both sides.
