Yeboah Amankwah: Ghanaian-English defender joins FC Inter from IFK Mariehamn

Ghanaian-English centre-back Yeboah Amankwah has joined FC Inter from Veikkausliiga rivals IFK Mariehamn in a completed transfer. The 25-year-old defender moves within Finland’s top flight to link up with the Turku club after impressing in the first half of the 2026 campaign.

Amankwah, born in London and right-footed, has signed a deal with FC Inter running until 31 December 2026. The move keeps him in the Veikkausliiga, where he has already established himself this season as a regular starter after arriving at IFK Mariehamn earlier in the year.

The centre-back only joined Mariehamn in January 2026, having previously been without a club following his departure from Belgian side Lommel SK in 2025. He has since rebuilt his career in Finland, featuring 12 times in the league for Mariehamn in 2026, as well as adding appearances in both the Suomen Cup and Liigacup.

Amankwah’s performances have been marked by consistency and involvement: he has started the majority of Mariehamn’s league fixtures this season, logging over 1,000 minutes and contributing one assist from the heart of defence. His current market valuation stands at around €150,000, underlining his status as a solid, established option at the back.

Before his move to mainland Europe with Lommel, Amankwah developed in England with Manchester City’s youth and under-23 sides and gained senior experience on loan at Rochdale and Accrington Stanley.

The deal sees Amankwah complete a mid-season switch to FC Inter Turku, where he is contracted until the end of the 2026 calendar year.
