Yaya Sidibe: Mali right-back joins CE LHospitalet on free transfer from CF Badalona

Mali defender Yaya Sidibe has joined CE L’Hospitalet on a free transfer from CF Badalona, signing a deal with the Catalan club until 30 June 2027. The 29-year-old right-back makes the move ahead of the 2026-27 campaign as L’Hospitalet reshape their squad.

Sidibe, born in Bamako in November 1996, arrives after a year with Badalona, whom he also joined on a free transfer in 2025. His new contract at L’Hospitalet runs for one season, giving the club experienced cover on the right side of defence.

An established figure in Spain’s lower divisions, Sidibe has built a reputation as a consistent performer at right-back. He has made 86 appearances in the Segunda Federacion Group III, adding one assist and logging more than 6,000 minutes of league football, as well as featuring in promotion play-offs and the Copa del Rey.

Before his switch to Badalona, Sidibe spent the 2024-25 season with UE Olot, having earlier played for Manresa and AE Prat. His career in Catalan football stretches back to spells with Sant Andreu, Terrassa FC, CE Farners and Girona FC’s B team, with each move previously coming without a transfer fee.

Sidibe now links up with L’Hospitalet looking to translate his extensive experience in Spain’s semi-professional tiers into stability in the right-back position for the 2026-27 season.
