Vinicius Junior has reacted publicly to his new Real Madrid contract after the Brazil forward ended a prolonged period of negotiations by agreeing to remain at the club until 2032.
The 25-year-old posted a message on Instagram following the Spanish club’s official announcement, writing: “8 years at the Bernabeu, it’s far too short… 6 more years and forever”.
Real Madrid confirmed that an agreement had been reached to extend Vinicius Junior’s contract, keeping him tied to the club until 30 June 2032.
The announcement brings to an end a long-running renewal process involving the player and the club. Vinicius’ previous contract was due to expire next summer, while Real Madrid had also become increasingly concerned about the possibility of losing him for nothing when his deal ended in the summer of 2027.
Those concerns were heightened by reported interest from Arsenal, with negotiations over a new agreement continuing for an extended period before the two sides finally reached a resolution.
Under the terms of the new deal, Vinicius will remain a Real Madrid player for another six years beyond his current agreement. His Instagram message referred to the eight years he has already spent at the club and looked ahead to a continued relationship with the Spanish giants.
Vinicius joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2018, moving to the club when he was 18. Since then, he has established himself as one of the leading figures in the team and has spent eight seasons wearing the club’s shirt.
During that time, he has made 375 appearances for Real Madrid, scoring 128 goals. He has also won 14 trophies with the club.
His renewal ensures that the forward’s future will remain at Real Madrid through to the end of June 2032, following months of uncertainty over the possibility of his departure.
The club’s formal statement confirmed the length of the extension, while Vinicius offered his own response through social media. His words “8 years at the Bernabeu, it’s far too short… 6 more years and forever” reflected his desire to continue his association with Real Madrid after the conclusion of the negotiations.
The agreement also removes the immediate prospect of Vinicius leaving when his previous contract was due to expire and prevents the club from facing the possibility of losing him as a free agent in 2027. Arsenal’s interest had added to the attention surrounding the situation, but the Brazilian has now committed his future to Real Madrid until 2032.
